It depends on the pole. Swix has ski poles in different materials that can withstand different loads.
Exercisers and elite racers want as light a pole as possible. Our best poles, such as Triac 4.0 Aero, are made of a high-modulus carbon fiber which means that the material is extremely light, resilient and strong. This is to give maximum performance. This material is unfortunately vulnerable once it has been damaged in the form of blows or shocks, we strongly recommend using our pole cogs for the best possible protection of your poles.
For those of you who want a pole that can be handled less carefully, you can choose a composite pole. These poles do not have the same properties in terms of weight, pendulum and stiffness, but they are more robust. This means that they can withstand more bangs and falls than, for example, the Triac poles.
